What is Assisted Living
• Assisted Living communities are designed for seniors who may not be able to live on their own safely, but do not require the higher level of care provided in a nursing home.
• Assisted living communities offer a wide range of services, such as minimal to extensive assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, etc.), medication management, meal service,
transportation, housekeeping, laundry services, life enrichment/community life, and coordination of care with various healthrelated entities.
• Assisted Living provides and/or coordinates personal services, 24 hours a day, with supervision by licensed and unlicensed employees.
• Designed to maximize a resident’s quality of life, dignity, autonomy, choice, independence, privacy, socialization, and safety.
• Designed to encourage a sense of community: Encourage family, friends and community involvement and interaction.
• Designed to accommodate residents’ individual diagnoses, changing needs, and preferences: a person-centered approach.
• Designed as a setting that provides assistance on various levels in maintaining and enhancing the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being of the residents that reside in the community
based on their preferences.
• Designed as a residential setting that provides and/or coordinates

reimbursement rate is $23.00.
